Bourbon--a classic American whiskey,is a type of whiskey made from a grain mixture that's at least 51% corn. Other grains such as rye, barley, or wheat can be added to the mash to give the whiskey additional flavors. Here's a recipe for making bourbon:

10 pounds of corn
5 pounds of rye
1 pound of barley
5 gallons of water
1 package of yeast

Large pot or kettle
Fermentation vessel (e.g., plastic bucket)
Aging barrel

Grind the corn, rye, and barley into a fine powder using a grain mill.
In a large pot or kettle, bring 5 gallons of water to a boil.
Add the ground grains to the water and stir well.
Let the mash cool to a temperature of around 150-160 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add a package of yeast to the mash and stir well.
Transfer the mash to a fermentation vessel and cover it with a lid.
Let the mash ferment for around 5-7 days, stirring occasionally.
After fermentation, transfer the mash to a still and heat it slowly, being careful not to let it boil.
Collect the distilled spirit as it comes out of the still.
Once the distillation is complete, transfer the bourbon to an aging barrel and let it age for at least 2-3 years.
