Zombie Cocktail

Background:

The Zombie cocktail is a classic Tiki drink that originated in the 1930s. It was created by Donn Beach, also known as Don the Beachcomber, and gained popularity for its potent combination of rum and fruit juices. The cocktail is known for its complex and flavorful profile, making it a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.

Ingredient:

1 1/2 oz dark rum

1 oz light rum

1 oz orange juice

1 oz pineapple juice

1/2 oz lime juice

1/2 oz grenadine syrup

1/2 oz apricot brandy

1/2 oz 151-proof rum (optional)

1 cup crushed ice

Garnish: Pineapple wedge, cherry, mint sprig

Steps:

Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.

Add the dark rum, light rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine syrup, and apricot brandy to the shaker.

Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to blend the flavors and chill the mixture.

Strain the cocktail into a tall glass filled with fresh crushed ice.

Float the 151-proof rum on top of the drink, if desired, for an extra kick.

Garnish with a pineapple wedge, cherry, and mint sprig for a tropical touch.

Give the drink a gentle stir to combine the flavors.
